LINO – Libertarian In Name Only

ORLANDO, Florida – Barely twenty-four hours in and already the Libertarian party of two thousand and sixteen is starting to experience dissention in the ranks.

Over Memorial day weekend Libertarians came together from across the country and around the world to nominate their president and vice presidential candidates at their annual national party convention. And for many the top of the ticket for the fall and the general election season is troubling, deeply troubling.

Many Libertarians say that with the assention of former Massachusetts Governor William Weld to the vice presidency that it will just give the North American Union types and Wall Street Big Money Donors a paper tiger in a Gary Johnson administration, should he win the presidency in the fall.

Because from sun-drenched Florida and the grave of the late great Economist Harry Browne, the 1996 and 2000 Libertarian party nominee for President of the United States of America, you can hear the battle cry of LINO – Libertarian In Name Only!

No doubt the Johnson-Weld ticket will tell Libertarians and you fellow voter nothing could be further from the truth. No paper tigers here, no LINO’s allowed! And so it will go, no?

But lets look at it from this perspective for just a minute, shall we? My prediction is that the Johnson-Weld ticket will be Libertarian-lite in that they’ll run under the Libertarian party banner but will, instead, draw from the well of the Never Trump Never Hillary movements in a kind of “A Coalition of the Willing.” Or as Bill Clinton and Dick Morris did so infamously in the 1990’s, “Triangulation.

Seeking out those disgruntled and disavowed  Democrats and Republicans who just can’t stand the idea, much less stomach it, of another Clinton or that for matter a Donald J. Trump in The White House.

Or, maybe not? Maybe just maybe it’s what they all really want, and it’s just going to be made to look like it’s not? Just so the media, talking-heads, politicos and party bosses can have something to talk about on the nightly news.

In either case I like Bill Weld and have enormous respect for Gary Johnson, ever since 2011 when he first ran for the presidency. Then as now Johnson stands for some of the same things that I do, but with Charles and David Koch, through Bill Weld, pulling on Johnson like he’s a puppet and they’re the masters even I can’t stomach that!

I hate Charles and David Koch with every fiber of my being for what they have done to this great country of ours and this beautiful world in which we all live. They are evil incarnate, in my opinion, and hell itself would be a far worse place with them in it.

I call LINO – Libertarian in Name Only! And for those disgruntled and disaffected Libertarians I offer this as your Battle Cry:

Hold fast, and as Jesse Ventura says, “Stay Vigilant…”

[Music NEWS] Musicians, Radio Hosts React to Joe Cocker’s Passing « Radio.com

COLD SPRINGS, Colorado – It is but once in a lifetime a talent so great, so unique, and so demur comes along that it can only be appreciated by hearing words, melodies and more come from it. Echo out of it.

And that is what Joe Cocker was to music and the arts. There was not a song that he could not sing, a note that he could not make, and a musical instrument he could not play that didn’t become one with him.

Today the music world and the arts community mourns the loss of Joe Cocker. A true legend and pioneer in music.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time.

Wiz Khalifa Talks Own Run-Ins With The Cops, Asks for Peace in Ferguson « Radio.com

PITTSBURG, PA. — Rapper Wiz Khalifa talks music, police, and Peace in Ferguson with Vibe Magazine.

The rapper related a story about when he was a teenager to the music magazine that police would pull him over, and ask for his I.D. with ‘a gun pointed at my head’.

Wiz called for Peace in Ferguson stating that not all ‘cops’ he knows ‘are bad’. They ‘work my shows and keep me safe’. And for the most part he has a good relationship with a lot of police officers.

Here’s agreeing with the Wiz Man that Peace does come to Ferguson soon but here’s also hoping that Justice comes along for the ride as well.

Peace.

radio.com REPORTS that Andre 3000 of OutKast will play the rocker in an upcoming movie titled, “Jimi: All is By My Side..” Were Jimi alive and well today he would be 43 years old. And no doubt still jamming and making the world a far better place to live.

It is hard to imagine this world and this life without Hendrix but we celebrate his life and legacy even in these troubled times. I can’t wait for the reissue of these two, “Electric Lady Studio” albums and the movie. #RIPJimi. We love you, and we miss you…

#Blog: “Strictly speaking, lets watch the switch…” By Rhett E. Column, #SWN

Politicians will be politicians, in or out of office, and nowhere is this more truer than in these two gentlemen; former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, Democrat and former Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer also a Democrat.

In the interests of full disclosure Ted Strickland gets on my last possible nerve, like fingers on a chalk board as it were, and I just wish the ole guy would just dry up and blow away. The weariness in well-doing is just too much when it comes to Ted Strickland. To that end though where I am mostly in a state of shock is when it comes to Brian Schweitzer. This guy use to mean everything to me as a LIBERAL democrat. But, alas and unfortunately the bloom is off the political rose. WHY?

Mr. Schweitzer it turns out is an opportunist. Doing all he can when he can where ever he can to improve his status of 2016 hopefuls amongst the Democrats. He talks a good public game but privately its a whole other story with him. Recently, I learned that he is solely responsible for the American PUSH for Keystone XL (pipeline). OPERATING, publicly and privately, as TransCanada’s biggest American Allie.

Especially through the mid-west and the whole of Montana.

Schweitzer and his backers stand to make millions if KXL goes through especially for his so-called, “Bakken Oil (Shale) Off Ramp”.

Schweitzer, who spends his days pining for every opportunity, every chance to get into the 2016 process, wants you and I to believe otherwise though. Wants you and I to believe that he is all about the land and the people and more importantly ‘job opportunities’ don’t cha know. What such has in fact done is

Link #4: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251364515

ONLY revealed and exposed him as the opportunist that he really is.

Link #5: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/04/27/1205266/-Brian-Schweitzer-a-bold-progressive-or-just-another-fossil-fueled-politician#

Someone who is in fact far more interested in the almighty dollar and the power that comes with it then governance and adhering to the will of the people writ large. And this is the thing that is most troubling to me. BECAUSE Schweitzer presents himself as an every man’s every man, a man of the people, a man of the land. Just a ‘cattle rancher from Montana’. YET, when you drill down the drill down on all things Brian Schweitzer such is anything but. The same can be said for Hillary Clinton, even Barack Obama.

I am reminded of the Mario Como line on politicians, “Politicians campaign in poetry but govern in prose…” The same can also be said for the epic line from Twain on politicians, “You know how you can tell a politician is lying? When his lips are moving…”

That’s why I could never ever support a man like Brian Schweitzer ,or even Ted Strickland for that matter, for any office higher than head janitor and even then I’d have to watch my six BECAUSE the minute I turned my back a large steak knife would be firmly planted in its middle by the likes of the above.

And if a man the likes of Schweitzer would stick a steak knife in me what do you think that he would do to the rest of America and the World? Strictly speaking, lets watch the switch…
